The Wrathful Axe is a halberd in Dark Souls II: Crown of the Sunken King.
In-Game Description
- An armament forged from the soul of Elana, child of Dark.
Use strong attack to unleash its latent power.
- When the Abyss dissipated, the things that called it home were fragmented and scattered across the realm.
Eventually these pieces regained form, in ways that hinted at humanity's true nature.

- Obtained by trading the Soul of Elana, Squalid Queen along with 24,000 souls to Weaponsmith Ornifex.
Characteristics[]
The Wrathful Axe is primarily a Strength weapon that can inflict very heavy damage, and possesses a very interesting special ability: an area of effect Dark-based spell that deals heavy damage to all enemies near the player: the closer they are, the more damage they will be dealt. Weaker enemies such as the Hollow Infantry in the Forest of Fallen Giants and the Parasite Spiders in Brightstone Cove Tseldora will almost always die to the blast if it hits them.
It should be noted that the blast of the Wrathful Axe takes about two full seconds to deliver it, as such, players should be mindful of their timing when using this, as unless the player has enough poise to resist enemy attacks, the blast will be cancelled.

- The text for this weapon is misleading: its special ability is actually activated using the Parry button when two-handed, not by using the Strong Attack.
- Each blast consumes 10 durability, meaning that unless the player has a Bracing Knuckle Ring, the Wrathful Axe can only be used 7 times - at the eighth, it will break.
- This weapon favors infusion with Dark as it will boost the area of effect blast, and infusion with any element will significantly raise its damage at minimal expense of scaling.
- It also has one of the longest reaches, if not the longest, of all Halberds.
