The Way of Blue is a covenant in Dark Souls III.

In-Game Description

Members of the Way of Blue are the beneficiaries of an ancient accord. When a dark spirit threatens them, a blue spirit will grant them assistance, and help root out the invader.

How to join[]

Given by Emma, High Priestess of Lothric Castle at the end of the High Wall of Lothric, along with the Small Lothric Banner.

While having the 'Way of Blue' sigil equipped, the player will be aided by a Blade of a Darkmoon phantom or a Blue Sentinel phantom if invaded by a red or purple dark spirit. These blue spirits will return home upon death of the host, personal death, use of the Black Separation Crystal (either personally or by host), defeat of the invader(s) or successful passage of Adherent to the boss of the area.

For the purposes of matchmaking, blue spirits are summoned within an increased range based on the Way of Blue Adherent's Soul Level. An upward and downward search range of 15 levels, plus 10% of the host's Soul Level, is used to find matching blue spirits.

Up to two blue spirits may be simultaneously summoned upon detection of intrusion in the Way of Blue Adherent's world, with additional summons every 5 minutes afterward if an invader is still present. The number of blue spirits active in the host's world is limited only by the number of available slots, meaning that it is possible for three blue spirits to be present if the host has activated a Dried Finger.

Blue spirits will not be summoned in the event of invasion by a territory defender (Watchdogs of Farron, Aldrich Faithful).

There is no ranking system in the Way of Blue covenant meaning there are no rewards aside from receiving aid while invaded.
