The Warrior is one of the classes in Dark Souls 2.
They have the highest starting Strength and have notably above average Dexterity, lending it well towards builds that want to either focus on Strength-based weapons with a moderate Dexterity requirement or to use weapons that scale well with both of those stats. This is also the only class in Dark Souls 2 to start out with a shield, the Iron Parma. While this shield can also be bought by other classes from Maughlin the Armorer, available from the start of the game, and is largely outclassed by the Silver Eagle Kite Shield that can also be bought from him, it's still a nice tool to have early on with its decent Physical blocking and Stability, and to save on souls early on before replacing it.
However, their starting weapon, the Broken Straight Sword, is awful and should be replaced as quickly as possible. This can easiest be done by picking up the Morning Star found by dropping through the hole in the rocks to the left of the wooden fence seen just after exiting Things Betwixt, or by taking the dagger found inside the first sidepath fog gate of Things Betwixt.
Also, their below average Adaptability and mediocre Attunement means they just reach the breakpoint for having 8 i-frames for their rolls. This means they need 4 points into Adaptability to improve to 9 i-frames per roll, or 12 points into Attunement (2 points in Adaptability and 6 points in Attunement) if wishing to start with support spells earlier.
