Vitality is a stat in Dark Souls II.

General Information[]

The main purpose of Vitality is to increase the player's maximum Equip Load. It also increases one's maximum HP slightly. Finally, increasing one's Vitality grants extra natural Physical and Poison defense. The softcaps for this stat are 29/49/70. If using Flynn's Ring keep in mind that increasing vitality beyond 14 points or 10 points while wearing Third Dragon Ring makes Flynn’s Ring less effective. Every .5 weight above 60 total carry weight loses 1 damage, so the max you should have is 60.4 carry weight. This is not the percentage of carry weight used but the total amount of weight you can carry.

Physical Defense Bonus is a substat determined by the average of Strength, Dexterity, Endurance and Vitality. Armor pieces scale their physical defenses based on this, as do unarmored defenses.

Defense Bonus per level

Poison Defense is added to the defenses equipment give. It is determined by the formula PDLevel = (3ADP + VIT) /4 and follows this graph (players have an extra invisible 100 defense):
