For the Dark Souls III variant, see Twin Dragon Greatshield (Dark Souls III).

The Twin Dragon Greatshield is a greatshield in Dark Souls II.

In-Game Description

A wooden greatshield featuring twin dragons.
Quite light for this size of shield.
One requires strength to handle a greatshield, but they are very stable. In battle, one fights using shield bash instead of parrying.

Sold by Maughlin the Armorer in Majula for 2,000 souls.

Much like its predecessor, the Eagle Shield from Dark Souls, the Twin Dragon Greatshield is a lightweight greatshield that is a powerful option for players that do not put a great amount of investment in Strength. However, it is eventually outclassed by other greatshields due to its inability to block 100% of physical damage and its comparatively low base stability. Also, like the Eagle Shield, it boasts poor defense against fire damage, although it can resist lightning damage quite well.

Due to its availability for purchase from the start of the game, the Twin Dragon Greatshield can provide a large amount of early defensive power to players who invest heavily in Strength, ensuring that they have a way to block most forms of damage thrown at them throughout the early game.
