- For the Dark Souls III variant, see Set of Thorns (Dark Souls III).
The Set of Thorns is a medium armor set in Dark Souls.
Availability[]
After defeating Kirk, Knight of Thorns in the Depths, Demon Ruins, and Lost Izalith, the Set of Thorns will spawn on a corpse near Quelaag's Sister in Quelaag's Domain.
Plot[]
The set is the trademark armor of Kirk, Knight of Thorns.
Characteristics[]
The Set of Thorns has several unique characteristics. Rolling with it will deal 110 physical damage to anything the player connects with. However, if the player has a weapon equipped that cannot be wielded in one hand, the player will stagger upon rolling into an enemy. This happens even if the player is holding the weapon in both hands (and has sufficient Strength to wield it two-handed). Wearing the Set of Thorns also increases the damage dealt with Gauntlets by 20%, and adds 20 physical damage to kicks.
Unfortunately, the Set of Thorns offers below average defense and resistances for its weight. The Dark Set, for example, provides better or equivalent characteristics in all fields, for a lower weight.
Despite not dealing poise damage, when rolling into an enemy or another player that has 0 poise, they will be staggered by the roll.
