Syan's Halberd is a halberd in Dark Souls II.

In-Game Description

Replica of the halberd of the loyal knight Syan. A meticulously-crafted, distinguished weapon.

Sir Syan was widely known as the kingdom's most loyal knight, and when the Giant's invaded, he volunteered to lead the advance party, but was slaughtered most dishonorably.

The King commissioned replicas of Syan's accoutrements and bestowed them to promising knights, but not long after they donned the armor did they go thoroughly mad.

Characteristics

A copy of the weapon once wielded by Sir Syan, Syan's Halberd is a robust Dexterity-focused weapon that can be very powerful in the right hands.

Syan's Halberd is unique among halberds in that it borrows attacks from the Spear class. As well, like a spear, it is capable of performing thrusting attacks from behind a raised shield, granting defensive utility. This makes the weapon very versatile as the wielder can utilize quick thrusting attacks as well as wide sweeping attacks on the same weapon, granting wide area coverage and ranged spacing attacks.

However, this comes at the cost of a comparatively high Dexterity wielding requirement, as well as a somewhat low base damage when compared to other halberds that also deal purely physical damage. Both of these factors mean that the weapon is most ideal un-infused, and that the weapon is best utilized by leveling Dexterity in order to take advantage of its high scaling in that stat.

Moveset
