- For the Dark Souls II variant, see Mirrah Shield.
The Sunset Shield is a medium shield in Dark Souls III.
In-Game Description
- Shield of the Holy Knights of the Sunless Realms.
- Engraved with a brilliant flame crest that burns brightly within the order's customary sunset colors. This design symbolizes those who both harbor and oppose the power of flame.
- Skill: Parry
Repel an attack at the right time to follow up with a critical hit. Works while equipped in either hand.
Availability[]
Found in the Cemetery of Ash, on a gravestone located near the cliff on the right side of the area between the Iudex Gundyr bonfire and Firelink Shrine.
The shield will only appear after defeating Holy Knight Hodrick together with Sirris of the Sunless Realms in the Pit of Hollows.
Description[]
The Sunset Shield is wielded by two characters: Sirris of the Sunless Realms, from whom it can be obtained from, and Slave Knight Gael when he appears as an NPC. As Gael does not fight back when attacked as an NPC, and his shield is nowhere to be seen during his boss fight in The Ringed City, he only uses the shield as a friendly summon.
Characteristics[]
A medium shield with relatively good elemental defenses and very good stability, being weak only against Dark damage. The shield's greatest strength is that it a very low Strength requirement to wield while still providing 100% physical damage block and a Parry, making it useful for builds that invest few levels into the stat.
Upgrades[]
Reinforced with Titanite.
