- "Hmm... You are a fine trading partner. Rumour it may be, but I have heard of a surviving ancient dragon who resides in this land. A coterie of Undead serves the dragon, as they train to become dragons themselves. Sounds unlikely, but you never know, do you?"
- — Domhnall of Zena

- Cut flying animations show that the Stone Dragon has legs and not a mass of tentacle-like appendages, unlike Seath the Scaleless.
- According to an interview with Miyazaki, the Stone Dragon does not feel pain when its tail is cut off. The ancient dragons are half-living, half-element, and do not feel pain. The dragon depicted in the opening cutscene pre-dates the emergence of life in the world.[2]
- The Stone Dragon may be a Fire Keeper, considering that the nearby bonfire starts out lit and kindled.
