Simple Gems are upgrade materials in Dark Souls III.
In-Game Description
- A gem of infused titanite, said to be an object of infatuation for victims of stunted development.
- Used in infusion to create simple weapons.
- Simple weapons inflict magic damage and restore FP very gradually, to help even a simpleton muster some mettle.
Availability[]
- Irithyll of the Boreal Valley
- Dropped by a Crystal Lizard found above the Pontiff Sulyvahn bonfire, across the lift.
- Irithyll Dungeon
- Painted World of Ariandel
- In the riverbed in the Corvian Settlement. After entering the settlement proper and taking the left-side path after the bridge, drop down into the riverbed behind the gate, where a Sewer Centipede guards it.
- The Ringed City
- Found on a corpse in the Shared Grave area, in the area under the Crystal Lizard trap.
Usage[]
Infuses weapons with Magic damage, granting Intelligence scaling but reducing Strength and Dexterity scaling, as well as reducing base damage. Compared to the Crystal infusion, the scaling is higher in all areas, but the base damage of the weapon is lower, meaning that the weapon will do less damage overall.
The benefit of the Simple infusion is that when wielded, the weapon slowly regenerates FP at a rate of about 1 FP per 5 seconds, or 0.2 FP per second. Reinforcing it will reduce the tick interval by roughly 0.217 seconds per upgrade level. At +10 reinforcement, a Simple weapon will replenish 1 FP per 2.85 seconds, or roughly 0.35 FP per second.
Notes[]
- In order to start using Simple Gems for infusions, the player is first required to collect the Giant's Coal in Anor Londo and give it to Blacksmith Andre.
- It is possible to wield two items with the Simple infusion (one in the left and right hands), thus doubling the FP regeneration.
