For the Dark Souls III variant, see Silver Knight (Dark Souls III).

Silver Knights are an enemy in Dark Souls, and are encountered in Anor Londo.

General information[]

Silver Knights are a primary enemy in Anor Londo. They have high lightning resistance and their armor offers a small Curse resistance.

They wear the Silver Knight Set, use a Silver Knight Shield and wield either a Silver Knight Straight SwordSilver Knight Spear, or Dragonslayer Greatbow. When faced at short range, the Dragonslayer Greatbowmen can switch to a sword and shield.

Silver Knights are able to backstab the player.

Silver Knights will still appear even if Anor Londo goes Dark, they are one of the respawnable enemies as well as the Painting Guardians.

Lore[]

Many Silver Knights accompanied Gwyn to the Kiln of the First Flame while the rest stayed behind to guard Anor Londo and the illusion of Gwynevere, Princess of Sunlight.[1][2][3]

In the time of Lothric, these Knights are still in Anor Londo to protect the grand city. However, given that they are fighting side by side with the Cathedral of the Deep, it is possible that they were brainwashed, or that they betrayed Gwyndolin, as they are now fighting alongside the invaders of the city they had sworn to protect long ago.

Strategies[]

  • The Silver Knights can pose a considerable threat to inexperienced players. An easy way to defeat them is to block or dodge their attacks, and then backstab them.
  • Silver Knights are also highly susceptible to parrying and ripostes.
  • Players should strafe to the right of a Silver/Black Knight as their right-handed attacks will often hit the player if they strafe to the left. Avoiding their shield bash attack can be helpful, as they have a window of 2-3 seconds after their shield bash to attack them or backstab.
  • The Silver Knight guarding the Silver Knight Set has an unusually short aggro range, making it easy to avoid combat.
  • The two Silver Knight Archers guarding the outside of the palace can be troublesome to both experienced and inexperienced players alike. A good strategy is to use an upgraded bow with good range and Feather Arrows, and snipe the Silver Knights from one of the walkways where their arrows get stuck in railing.
