The Rusted Iron Ring is a ring in Dark Souls

In-Game Description

This iron ring was used to shackle the guilty. It is terribly rusted, and faintly stained with blood.
Those who find this strange ring to their liking will be pleased to find it easier to gain footing on poor ground such as swamps.

Availability

To get the ring, the player will first need the Undead Asylum 2nd floor key. To get it, take the elevator from Firelink Shrine to the Undead Parish . As soon as the walls end shortly after the elevator starts, turn around and roll out of the elevator to land on a platform. Move around the wall until you come to a grassy cliff. Jump or roll straight forward onto a grassy ramp. Take the ramp and stairs up the connecting tower, and roll off to the top of the building to the player's left. The key is on the corpse.

After the player gets the key, they must circle around again and curl up like a ball in the crow's nest. This will cause the crow to fly to the Asylum with the player. Once at the asylum, track the original path through until the player has reached the area above the area they fought the Asylum Demon. In the room just past there was a door that was locked the first time around. Open it and proceed ahead. The ring is on a corpse near the edge of the crumbled stairway.

General Information

Allows full movement regardless of environment. The ring will prove quite useful if the player picked it up before going through Blighttown, as increased movement through the swamp decreases the chances of contracting poison. It will come in handy again during the fights with the Hydras, as well as traversing the pits of Lost Izalith. It is also helpful in Sen's Fortress, should the player want to fight the Titanite Demons in the pit under the first bridge.
