Characteristics

The Royal Soldier set provides a standard balance of defenses for its weight. The ease of obtaining the set makes it a solid choice for players that want some poise, as it can serve as a stepping stone until heavier or more powerful armor becomes available.

Compared to the Elite Knight set, which is also sold by Maughlin after his first stock upgrade, the Royal Soldier set is considerably lighter and cheaper, while providing more poise. However, it is less effective against status and elemental damage, and although it provides better physical defenses relative to its weight, it still has noticeably lower total physical defenses.

• This set is a non-decayed version of the Hollow Soldier Set.
• This set is worn by the Royal Soldiers in the Giant memories.
• This set and its decayed version are both similar in appearance to the Paladin Set donned by Paladin Leeroy. The most obvious resemblances are that of the iconic helmet and the shoulder guards.
