The Ringed Knight Straight Sword (輪の騎士の直剣 Wa no Kishi no Chokuken, Straight Sword of the Knights of the Ring) is a straight sword in Dark Souls III: The Ringed City.
In-Game Description
- Straight sword wielded by the Ringed Knights.
The arms of early men were forged in the Abyss, and betray a smidgen of life.
- For this reason the gods cast a seal of fire upon these swords, and those who possessed them.
- Skill: Ember
Stand ready with the timeworn blade as it restores its ancient brilliance and reignites a short-lived flame. From this stance, transition to normal or strong attack.
Availability[]
Found in The Ringed City. From the Ringed City Streets bonfire, go towards the Judicator Giant, turning right before reaching the sunken church guarded by Ringed Knights. At the top of a hill to the right, there will be a sunken building with a non-aggressive White-faced Locust atop, the sword can be found near him.
Characteristics[]
Though it may seem plain due to possessing the Long Sword moveset, the Ringed Knight Straight Sword can be very powerful in the right hands. Unlike most straight swords it is largely Strength-oriented in terms of scaling, and is tied with the Gotthard Twinswords and Lothric's Holy Sword for the longest straight sword in the game. However, it is also tied with the Dark Sword for the heaviest straight sword in the game (excluding paired weapons like the Gotthard Twinswords and Valorheart), and cannot benefit from infusions, making it less flexible as a weapon and ideal largely for quality builds.
What sets the Ringed Knight Straight Sword apart from its peers is its skill, Ember. This ability greatly extends its already potent reach, and allows the wielder to perform devastating combos and chase down foes with abandon. The attacks from the Ember stance also possess Hyper Armor, a rarity on weapons of this class size, and make it a force to be reckoned with.
