Ricard's Rapier is a thrusting sword in Dark Souls II.
In-Game Description
- An exquisitely decorated rapier. Said to belong to a prince who appears in an ancient tale.
- There are numerous variations of the story of the prince who wandered the lands and eventually became Undead. The majority of these tales end in tragedy, but there are some exceptions.
Availability[]
- Found in a chest in Huntsman's Copse.
- Very rare drop from Parasite Spiders in Brightstone Cove Tseldora.
Characteristics[]
Ricard's Rapier is one of the best thrusting swords available, due to having great Dexterity scaling, critical damage, and low weight.
Because of its low Strength requirement, one can power stance Ricard's Rapier with as little as 12 Strength and still retain an immense damage output, provided the player has a high amount of Dexterity.
The rapier's strong attack ( / ) delivers three quick blows followed by a fourth delayed thrust that deals mild damage and does heavy poise damage. This is very hard to land properly on players, as it is delayed and somewhat easily telegraphed.
Due to its low poise damage and low reach for a thrusting weapon, this weapon may be considered undesirable for PvP. However, it is exceptional for PvE when power stanced.
When fully upgraded, it will require at least 38 Dexterity before it will out-damage the Rapier. It is wise to stock up on Repair Powder before using this weapon, as the heavy attack will consume a great deal of the weapon's durability.
Due to its high attack rate, Ricard's Rapier is very effective at status effect buildups such as Poison and Bleed.
