Rampart Golems are enemies in Dark Souls II: Crown of the Ivory King.
Lore[]
Long ago, these knights were charged with the containment of the creatures of chaos within the boundaries of Eleum Loyce. When the doors of city were flung open, the place turned frigid and lifeless, but the golems remained dutifully on guard.
Location[]
Found all across Frozen Eleum Loyce. Specifically, one directly behind the gate guarded by a Spellsword who will be shooting from the embrasure to your right; two more after that will be to both sides of the first, one guarding the door to the Expulsion chamber bonfire and the other being on the spiral stairs. The next golem is encountered after the Wall watchmen zone, after passing a lone Retainer and an ambushing spear Spellsword. One is guarding a chamber with a Knight of Eleum Loyce after the zone with wooden scaffolds and after the invading Castaway Witch Donna. One is guarding yet another chamber with a Knight of Eleum Loyce in the zone with Ice golems and a rollable snowball to cover the gap in the bridge. Two next to each other are found in an area accountable to the Inner wall bonfire after passing through the hidden door and proceeding behind (they can be aggroed separately if caution is maintained). Finally, one golem is found surrounded by barrels in the third ruined bulding of Frigid Outskirts. A total of no more than 9 Rampart golems can be found at any given moment in-game.
Attacks[]
- Strike: Attacks two or three times with lance in a thrusting motion.
- Charge: Runs toward player with lance forward.
- Throw Lance: Throws lance like a spear if player is some distance away from it. Attack is telegraphed by a brief run-up. The projectile itself appears shortly before the throwing animation. A new lance is materialised out of thin air similar to how Ice golems create their weapons.
- Wave of ice: Plunges lance into the ground, creating a line of ice in front of the golem.
- Impale: After a backstep, impales the player, lifts them up, then the tip of the lance explodes with ice, dealing damage. Finally, the player is thrown away for a formidable distance. The next move often is the Wave of ice, maintain vigilance.
Drops[]
- Rampart Golem Lance
- Rampart Golem Shield
- Rampart Golem Helm
- Rampart Golem Armor

Notes[]
- Can drink from its own Estus Flask to heal itself when it in low health.
- Almost all attacks can be parried, except, seemingly, the Impale.
- When parrying Wave of ice be ready to take damage from the ice even if the parry was successfull.
- This enemy can be standing-riposted normally.
- Sometimes when the animation suggests the golem will do a Wave of ice, the wave itself isn't created, resulting in an ample attack potential.
- Is highly susceptible to backstabs.
