Prism Stones are items in Dark Souls III.
In-Game Description
- Warm pebble emitting a beautiful phasing aura of seven colors, with a very rare eighth.
- The prism stone does nothing special, but can serve as a path marker, or perhaps dropped off a cliff to judge height by the sound of its descent. If a loud noise is heard upon its landing, then a fall from the ledge is surely lethal.
Availability[]
- Sold by the Shrine Handmaid for 10 souls each.
- Ten can be found in the Farron Keep, looted from a corpse near the first brazier in the poison swamp.
- Ten can be found in the Painted World of Ariandel.
Usage[]
When used, the player will drop one of these pebbles on the ground; each stone dropped will begin to sparkle in one of a few various colors, serving as a sort of marker. Known colors include: blue, green, purple, yellow, white and orange. What color a dropped stone will become is random and cannot be chosen.
They can also be dropped from ledges or cliffs in order to judge whether the player will survive a fall or not. If the stone emits a scream, then the drop is fatal.
In online play, Prism Stones can be useful for White Phantoms to guide hosts through levels, by signaling areas and items of interest (such as treasure chests and levers) or to provide trace amounts of light without equipping a Torch.
Notes[]
- One can be traded with Pickle Pee in exchange for a Twinkling Titanite (only once per playthrough).
- The scream emitted by a dropped stone will always sound female, even if the character that drops one is male.
- Stones dropped by you will vanish once a bonfire is used, or the game quitted and reloaded. Stones dropped by Anri of Astora are permanent.
