Shield (Standard)[edit | edit source]
The most common parry. The shield is swiped from right to left at a moderate speed. The Kite Shield is one such shield.
Shield (Extended)[edit | edit source]
Shield is held in front of the wielder and is then moved in a quick, upward, arc-like motion. This parry has the longest parry window. The Buckler is an example of a shield with this parry.
The dagger is brought near the wielder's left shoulder, then spun in a counter-clockwise sweeping motion going away from the user.
The user swipes the dagger horizontally to the left.

Campaign[edit | edit source]
Most humanoid enemies are susceptible to being parried. Be aware that the timing of the parry is small and therefore risky. A safer, but still risky, method is to block the first attack of an enemy, then parry the second attack.
Online gameplay[edit | edit source]
Depending on the user, the enemy player, and their weapon, the difficulty of successfully parrying can range from easy to impossible. Trying to read the opponent's moves will assist greatly in hitting parries.

- Each weapon has its own parry window, with the Parrying Dagger and extended parries receiving the most parry frames.
- Equipping a shield with the Parry skill on the left hand will not activate the skill and instead perform a regular parry. The skill will only activate when you have the shield on the right hand. Same applies to the Parrying Dagger.
- If a partial parry occurs, or if a parry is attempted on an unparryable attack, the damage received will equal a fifth of the weapon's guard absorption. For example, failing a parry with a shield that has 100% Physical absorption will be as if you blocked the attack with 20% Physical absorption.
- This Skill is one of the few that require no FP.
