Painting Guardians are enemies in Dark Souls.

They are encountered in Anor Londo, in the structure that houses the Painted World of Ariamis.
Description
Painting Guardians are alabaster-robed undead humans that wield dual Painting Guardian Swords, which they use in a circular dancing motion. They use throwing knives as their ranged attack and sometimes switch their off-hand weapon to a Target Shield.
Lore
They have guarded the Great Painting of Ariamis for generations, but their reason for doing so has long been forgotten.[1] Their unique fighting style has been passed down through generations.[2]
Notes
- They can Backstab for heavy damage.
- This enemy is found in quantity and can quickly overwhelm the player.
- Their armor can be found in the Painted World of Ariamis.
- They will still appear even if Anor Londo went dark. They are one of the respawnable enemies as well as the Silver Knights.
