Onikiri and Ubadachi (鬼切と姥断 Onikiri to Ubadachi) are paired katanas in Dark Souls III.

In-Game Description

The hunters known as the King's Black Hands wielded paired weapons. These belonged to Kamui, who looked after the prince.
Kamui brought Onikiri with him to the Undead Settlement, where he forged Ubadachi, and was finally prepared to join the ranks of the royal hunters.
Skill: Onislayer
Leap forward and slash mercilessly with both blades, cutting open foes.

Availability[]

Dropped by Black Hand Kamui after defeating him at the Grand Archives.

Characteristics[]

Onikiri and Ubadachi are unique among paired weapons, as the paired attacks require some finesse and aggressiveness in order to use properly. One-handed, it possesses the standard katana moveset and slightly worse damage than the Uchigatana. However, pulling out the off-hand blade allows the player to execute quick slashing and thrusting combos, dealing good damage and inflicting impressive amounts of Bleed build-up. As the off-hand blade is only slightly longer than most daggers, utilizing the paired attacks requires the player to get extremely close to the target, otherwise the short blade will miss entirely, greatly reducing the weapon's damage output.

However, what truly makes Onikiri and Ubadachi shine is its skill, Onislayer. The player leaps at the target with both katanas and slashes powerfully with both blades at the same time, dealing strong stagger and damage. It inflicts tremendous Poise damage, allowing it to interrupt attacks from large weapons under the right circumstances. Onislayer is a slow and heavily telegraphed attack, and as such using it too much is likely to result in the user being punished for it.
