The Morion Blade is a straight sword in Dark Souls III.
In-Game Description
- A twisted sword resembling the towers of Londor's Sable Church. Eight branching blades and thorns induce bleeding.
- The church's blessing makes the weapon revel in the agony of its owner. Heavy losses of HP boost attack, a curse most befitting its deformed appearance.
- Skill: Stance
While in stance, use normal attack to break a foe's guard from below, and a strong attack to slash upwards with a forward lunge.
Availability[]
Awarded by Yuria of Londor for fulfilling her initial questline, where she tells the Ashen One how Orbeck of Vinheim has proclaimed himself to be the "Lord of Hollows" and asks if they can see into this matter.
The player must then obtain Orbeck's Ashes and bring them back to Yuria in order to receive the sword.
Characteristics[]
An unorthodox weapon, the Morion Blade possesses several characteristics which can cater to very specific needs.
As a weapon, its damage output is rather moderate, as it scales with both Strength and Dexterity, more strongly with the former. However, it also has innate Bleed buildup, which means that it can also benefit from leveling Luck.
However, the weapon's primary trait is that when the wielder's health is at 20% or lower, all damage dealt by the wielder increases by 20%. As this is not limited to damage inflicted by the weapon itself, the Morion Blade can be used as a utility tool of sorts, wielding the weapon while inflicting damage with a weapon in the other hand, such as a crossbow or a spell catalyst. This can be particularly effective when combined with the Red Tearstone Ring.
