Miracles are a class of spells in Dark Souls II.

General information

Miracles are cast using a sacred chime as a medium (with the exception of Caitha's Chime). All miracle chimes scale with Faith.

Some non-chime weapons can also be used to cast miracles, like the Mace of the Insolent, the Black Witch's Staff and Sanctum Shield.

Miracles can be purchased from various merchants throughout Drangleic or found as lootable items on corpses or inside chests. Most miracles will focus on buffing the user in some way, while others will focus on large damage outputs. Offensive miracles typically inflict Lightning damage.

Not many enemies in the core game are resistant to Lightning damage and enemies that are Waterlogged take more damage from lightning. As such, miracles such as Great Lightning Spear and Sunlight Blade are always a reliable form of elemental damage to have on hand. Enemies from the DLCs boast higher elemental defenses and as such can be difficult to surmount with offensive miracles alone.
