The Millwood Greatbow is a greatbow in Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel.

In-Game Description

Greatbow crafted with black oak and wielded by Millwood Knights. Only specialized great arrows can be fired from the bow.
It is said that the Millwood Knights used these to face their sworn enemy, the Abyss Dragon.
Skill: Pierce Earth
Fire a greatarrow with a burst of strength and a prayer that violently shakes its target and explodes on impact.

AvailabilityEdit

Found near the ruined Millwood Tower after the forest of wolves from the Snowfield Bonfire. With the tower in front of you, head left up a steep hill. After climbing the incline, check the left side for a Millwood Archer and a small group of wolves. The greatbow can be found on a corpse along with a few Millwood Greatarrows.

CharacteristicsEdit

The Millwood Greatbow is a Strength-oriented greatbow, unlike the quality scaling of the Dragonslayer Greatbow and the Dexterity scaling of the Onislayer Greatbow.

It has the highest base damage of all greatbows and reaches A/E scaling when upgraded, while Dragonslayer reaches D/C and Onislayer reaches D/B. Its weight lies in the middle.

Its unique skill, Pierce Earth, removes damage falloff over distance and causes arrows to explode briefly after hitting terrain, damaging and knocking foes away. This makes it an excellent sniping weapon in both PvE and PvP, provided the user has FP.

The weapon's main drawback is its normal attack range. Without the use of its skill, it has the second-lowest range of any ranged weapon in the game, only beating the Avelyn. This means it is ill-suited for sniping if the user does not have FP to spare for the skill.

It also has low Dexterity scaling, pushing it towards builds that lean heavily towards Strength.
