The Mastodon Greatsword is a greatsword in Dark Souls II.
In-Game Description
- Greatsword of the Primal Knights that defend Drangleic castle.
- The brutish and mighty Primal Knights wield this sword like a feather-light twig, but to the ordinary warrior it is a chore even to hold up, owing to its great weight.
- Terrible experiments were said to have taken place in a hidden manor in Drangleic. The mastermind presiding over the deeds was known as Lord Aldia.

- Dropped by the Parasite Spiders in Brightstone Cove Tseldora.
- Found in a chest guarded by a Ruin Sentinel in Drangleic Castle.
- Dropped by Primal Knights in Doors of Pharros and Drangleic Castle.
- Rare drop from the Dark Spirit Syan Knight at Bonfire Intensity 2+ in the Forest of Fallen Giants.
Characteristics[]
Like the Mastodon Halberd, this weapon inflicts more Poise damage than the other weapons of its class usually can inflict. However, it comes at the cost of being tremendously heavy (rivaling the weight of other heavy weapons), making it unpopular to those who do not invest much in their Vitality stat, as well as a high Strength requirement to be wielded effectively.
On the other hand, this weapon has great potential for strength-oriented builds, as well as possessing a very versatile moveset of horizontal and vertical slashes, making it a great, lighter alternative to other heavier weapons with similar traits, such as the Greatsword.
