Lorian's Greatsword is a soul-transposed ultra greatsword in Dark Souls III.
In-Game Description
- Ultra greatsword of Lorian, Prince Lothric's older brother. Cast in smoldering molten steel, and stained black.
- Before Lorian embraced his brother's curse, he was a knight who single-handedly slayed the demon prince, but the victory eternally scorched his sword with flame.
- Skill: Flame of Lorian
Lunge forward to transform smolder into flame, and follow with strong attack to launch flame across ground.
Availability[]
Obtained by transposing the Soul of the Twin Princes with Ludleth of Courland.
Characteristics[]
Lorian's Greatsword is notable for being the only ultra greatsword in the game that inflicts meaningful amounts of Fire damage. While it has no Intelligence or Faith wielding requirements, it scales with both stats, making it a good weapon for quality builds that tend towards Strength but which also invest into caster stats.
Lorian's Greatsword utilizes the horizontal swinging ultra greatsword moveset, similar to the Profaned Greatsword, while combining it with thrusts and vertical swings to bring focused single-target damage to the table. This is further enhanced by its skill, which can be used to devastate single enemies and to further enhance the Fire damage it deals.
