- For the Dark Souls II variant, see Llewellyn Shield.
The Llewellyn Shield is a Small Shield in Dark Souls III.
In-Game Description
- Metal shield crafted by the great smith.
- Fashioned from rare geisteel, it excels at various types of damage absorption.
- Skill: Parry
Repel an attack at the right time to follow up with a critical hit. Works while equipped in either hand.
Availability[]
Dropped by Horace the Hushed. It can be obtained by killing him at any point in the game, including in Smouldering Lake.
Characteristics[]
A very popular Small Shield, the Llewellyn Shield boasts respectable stability and high overall physical and elemental absorption across the board, being somewhat less able to deflect Lightning than anything else. The cost of this is that it ties with the Eastern Iron Shield as the second-heaviest Small Shield in the game, and that it requires more investment in Strength to wield than any other Small Shield, tying with the Dragonhead Shield.
Due to its excellent defenses and possessing the fast parrying frames that all Small Shields share, it is an ideal shield for players who wish to block attacks as well as parry them.
Upgrades[]
Reinforced with standard Titanite.
