For the Dark Souls II variant, see Large Soul of a Proud Knight (Dark Souls II).

The Large Soul of a Proud Knight is a consumable soul item in Dark Souls.

In-Game Description

Large soul of a proud Undead knight who has long ago gone Hollow.
Use to acquire many souls.
Souls are the source of all life, and whether Undead, or even Hollow, one continues to seek them.

General information[]

Soul items are not lost upon death, so it is useful to keep some in case players lose their bloodstain but need some souls for leveling up or repairs. A Large Soul of a Proud Knight can be consumed for 3,000 souls. They can also be fed to Kingseeker Frampt, but as this grants less souls than simply consuming them, there is no good purpose for doing so.

Found on various corpses throughout Lordran:

Corpse locations[]

  • Blighttown
    • In the poisonous swamp, it is leaning against one of the large pillars not far from the bonfire.
    • In the swamp, the corpse is below the path that leads up to the Depths. Very close to the swamp bonfire.
    • Near the far side wall that is opposite from the swamp bonfire.
  • New Londo Ruins
    • After draining the ruins, it can be reached by dropping off of the ledge where the Cursebite Ring is found.
    • Only accessible after draining the ruins, in a small wooden shack and next to a fog door that leads to the Mass of Souls.
    • Near the shallow, flooded area that is between the two main structures with a Darkwraith nearby.
    • Close to the previous, the corpse is sprawled on a set of stairs.
  • Demon Ruins
    • Reachable only after killing Ceaseless Discharge, it is on a small "island" surrounded by lava.
  • Sen's Fortress
    • Before crossing the 1st bridge, look high to your left, you'll see it from an alcove. You can access it by finding your way to the tar-covered floor, head to the Titanite Demon sitting the closest to the previous view, to his right there is a small set of stairs leading to an alcove with a ladder, climb it to reach the corpse.
    • When you reach the boulders' path going down to the Covetous Gold Serpent Ring's area, ascend a certain distance, then quickly drop off to your left on the platform of planks (watch out for the Cobra Mage).
  • Painted World of Ariamis
    • When exiting the large building on the left of central decayed tower, turn left, it is guarded by a swordman Red Hollow (hanging from the ledge).
    • It is the left-most of the 3 corpses near the edge of the impaled frozen Red Hollows yard.
    • On the upper part of the bridge leading to Crossbreed Priscilla Boss fight, guarded by an Undead Dragon.
  • Tomb of the Giants
    • The 1st corpse in the area, initially out of reach. After crossing the polygonal bridge-pillar and officially entering the tomb, don't rush toward your 1st swordman Giant Skeleton, if you look on your right, you'll see a ledge lower than your position, which can be reached by a running jump. From there, continue down & up the dusty path to reach the corpse.
    • From the previous corpse, backtrack to the running jump landing zone, this time drop off to the available tomb, the corpse is near the edge, guarded by 2 swordmen Giant Skeletons (there is another drop off point to this corpse's tomb from the official beginning of the area, edge by edge, this route doesn't agro the skeletons).
    • From the previous corpse, don't descend the ladder, but walk carefully down a small groove to the right.
    • Following the Prism Stones path, after the 1st polygonal pillar slide, proceed to your right, the corpse is inside the rib cage of the remaining of a creature, guarded by a swordman Giant Skeleton.
    • 2x in the pit Patches kicks the player down (in the group of 3 corpses).
  • Royal Wood [AotA DLC]
    • Circulate the huge chasm till you reach the circle's dead end, it is near the cliff.
  • Oolacile Township [AotA DLC]
    • On the 1st blue pyramid-like roof.
