Characteristics
This shield is essentially an improvement of the Royal Kite Shield, across all stats, except weight, and is comparable to the Drakekeeper's Shield. It is widely considered the best low-weight shield with 100% physical damage reduction after being fully upgraded, although it can be harder to reinforce due to upgrading with Petrified Dragon Bones.
The King's Shield has an innate Fire infusion and thus cannot be infused by McDuff.
This shield, as unusual as it seems, makes for a rather-formidable strike weapon.
