Jugo is a mentioned location in Dark Souls II.

Lore[edit | edit source]

Jugo, located east of Drangleic, is a distant[1] desert land[2][3] of which the horizon is marked by the giant anthills of the local corrosive ants.[4] King Aurous is the heroic founder of the nation of Jugo[2][3], and the sorceresses of the land's desert are notable for their skill in pyromancy and danger, as they use their "enchanting looks"[1] to catch people off guard, regularly resulting in the death of the seduced victim.

Corrosive ant larvae are considered a delicacy in Jugo, but those who enter the anthills are reported to have their flesh melted to the bone by its dwellers.[4]

  • In Dark Souls II, a single corrosive ant can be killed, Corrosive Ant Queen in The Gutter, which is mostly non-hostile, although its secretion can lower equipment durability (while curing poison).
  • Despite Benhart being from Jugo, his set's origin is unknown, as he acquired it during his travels.[5]
