Characteristics[]
An early-game Small Shield, the Iron Round Shield is one of the better physical shields available to the player.
It possesses respectable stability from the outset, and blocks a moderate percentage of damage from physical attacks, though its defenses against elemental damage are found wanting. As well, its wielding requirements are easily met, making weight the only real concern. When fully upgraded, it has the highest stability among all Small Shields, and even beats out many Medium Shields in that regard.
Due to its higher than usual physical absorption and stability, the Iron Round Shield is quite strong at defending against attacks from pure physical weapons, though one should not attempt to rely on it for deflecting attacks from larger weapons, and it fares poorly against elemental damage as well. As with other Small Shields, it is ideally used to parry enemies due to its faster startup frames.
Upgrades[]
Reinforced with standard Titanite.
