Characteristics[]
A unique weapon that specializes in combatting shielded foes, the Irithyll Rapier can be a very strong weapon in many situations.
With strong scaling in Dexterity and respectable scaling in Strength, the Irithyll Rapier caters primarily to quality builds, and its moveset makes it a particular threat when wielded in the off-hand. As well, it is the only thrusting sword with an innate status buildup, inflicting Frost with each hit. This, combined with its Shield Splitter skill, makes it particularly dangerous against enemies that wield shields, since not only can it proc Frostbite through the shield to debuff stamina recovery, but the skill can be used to break through the shield altogether.
The only drawbacks of this weapon are its average reach, tied with most other thrusting swords, and its inability to be infused, restricting its use to quality and Dexterity-focused builds.
