- For the Dark Souls variant, see Hornet Ring.
The Hornet Ring is a ring in Dark Souls III.
In-Game Description
- Ring associated with the Lord's Blade Ciaran, one of the Four Knights of Gwyn, the First Lord.
- Boosts critical attacks.
- The masked Ciaran was the only woman to serve in Gwyn's Four Knights, and her curved sword granted a swift death to any and all enemies of the throne.
Availability[]
Found in the Untended Graves.
From the shrine's entrance, follow the path on the right. The ring can be found near the same grave where Hawkwood usually goes to pray in the Cemetery of Ash. It is guarded by a greataxe-wielding Black Knight and will appear only after the Abyss Watchers have been defeated.
Effect[]
Increases the damage of ripostes by approximately 30%, and the damage of backstabs by 13-18%.
Notes[]
- Like its Dark Souls predecessor, equipping this ring causes the wearer to perform the Demon's Souls critical animations against human opponents, which causes the attacks to be reduced differently by their flat defenses.
- Different animations will manipulate the foe's positioning differently. For example, a riposte while wearing the Hornet Ring will make the victim fall near the place where they got riposted. Meanwhile a backstab with the Hornet Ring will make the victim roll once after the backstab, causing them to fall further away. This makes fighting near cliffs a solid strategy for players who tend to go for backstabs.
