The Herald Set is a medium armor set in Dark Souls III.
In-Game Description
- Steel armor with a pure white cape, the signature of Heralds of the Way of White.
- Protection made of steel has excellent physical absorption, but is found lacking against blunt strikes and lightning damage.

- Starting equipment for the Herald class.
- Found on the path after the Crystal Sage arena that leads to the Cathedral of the Deep. The set may be found on a corpse in a clearing, guarded by an Evangelist next to a large bonfire.
Characteristics[]
The Herald Set is a moderately-light set of plate armor combined with cloth vestments, with fairly average defenses and resistances, but also glaring weaknesses.
It offers decent physical damage absorption against physical damage that does not inflict Strike damage, against which it lacks an adequate absorption. Against the elements, it provides a mediocre, but well-balanced, defense, save for a severe vulnerability against Lightning damage. In terms of weight, it provides a fair amount of Poise with it. Resistances to the various negative status effects are also relatively mediocre, though it is quite weak to Curse build-up, but respectably tolerant of Bleed and Frost build-up.
What is most peculiar of this set is that the cloth garments are not as reliable as the game states them to be, with the gloves and leggings both having terrible absorption in what they should protect more effectively against lightning and strike damage.
It is best to replace both of the gloves and leggings with a more suitable, protective choice in those slots, to help balance out the set's drawbacks more efficiently.
