The Heavy Crossbow is a crossbow in Dark Souls.
In-Game Description
- Powerful large crossbow. While bows require both hands, a crossbow is held in one, but arming each bolt takes time.
- Equip bolts to use. Press L2/R2 to change type of bolt.

The Heavy Crossbow can be found off of a corpse in the Depths, along with 11 Heavy Bolts, on the stone balcony overlooking the Gaping Dragon's chamber.
Characteristics[]
Heavier and more powerful than the Light Crossbow, the Heavy Crossbow deals the most damage per shot of all the crossbows, making it potentially more useful than Avelyn against nimble opponents.
Like all crossbows, you cannot aim down sights so the Binoculars can help with aiming. With the Binoculars, line the target up in the exact center of the screen. Change to Heavy crossbow without moving the camera, then fire. Like all crossbows, Heavy Crossbow does not scale off any stats though upgrading increases base damage, if infusing the AR of elemental bolts is added to the elemental AR of the infusion, which can be beneficial. Use ammo types that elementally match the infusion when possible and factor in enemy resistances when choosing an infusion and/or ammo type.
