Compared to normal bows, greatbows are heavier and have considerably greater stat requirements, along with a much slower fire rate, however they more than make up for it with their tremendous damage output. Their shots, when using the proper greatarrows, are capable of knocking down foes if they connect.
Unlike bows and crossbows, greatbows cannot be fired while moving, requiring the wielder to remain stationary. Because the player is required to hold the greatbow with both hands to fire, the Strength requirement is effectively only 66% of the displayed value. All greatbows have a zoom feature that allows the user to get a closer look at their aim point. As with normal bows and crossbows, range can be increased by equipping the Hawk Ring.
