The Great Wooden Hammer is a great hammer in Dark Souls III.
In-Game Description
- This giant wooden hammer is a worker's tool in the Undead Settlement.
- Intended to grind flesh and bone to prepare for burial, rather than use in battle.
- Skill: Spin Bash
Bash foes with a large spinning motion, utilizing momentum to transition into a overhand strong attack smash.
Availability[]
Dropped by Peasant Hollows who wield them in the Undead Settlement and Irithyll Dungeon.
Characteristics[]
Despite its comical appearance, the Great Wooden Hammer is a very unique weapon that occupies a very unique niche.
Compared to other great hammers, this weapon comes up woefully inadequate, as it possesses poor scaling in Strength and as a result inflicts far less physical damage than its heavier brothers. However, it requires the least amount of Strength to wield of all great hammers, weighs less than a greatsword and consumes far less stamina per swing than everything short of the Pickaxe, while still possessing the same Poise health and inflicting the same Poise damage of a great hammer. As well, it is one of two great hammers that possess the Spin Bash skill, allowing it to be used in ways that other great hammers cannot.
Combined with the above strengths, the Great Wooden Hammer can also still be infused. This means that it can be used as a large Poise weapon on builds that have not greatly leveled Strength or Vitality; namely, elemental melee builds.
