Great Magic Barrier is a miracle in Dark Souls II.

In-Game Description

Superior miracle to Magic Barrier. Increases resistance to magic, lightning, fire and dark.

The knights of Mirrah are expected to fight honorably, with reliance only upon swordsmanship. They only resort to magic the only time they truly need it: to face the magic of an enemy.

Availability

• Sold by Chancellor Wellager for 9,300 souls.
• Found in a chest in Aldia's Keep. The chest is located on the top level of the entrance hall, in a corner to the right of the dragon skeleton.

Effect

When cast, Great Magic Barrier covers the caster in a white aura, giving them a boost of 250 to all elemental resistances.

The duration of the miracle depends on the caster's Faith and ranges from 18 seconds when the spell is spice down to 10 Faith all the way up to 90 seconds at 42 Faith where the duration scaling caps.

Although Great Magic Barrier provides more raw defense than Magic Barrier, it does not affect allies. This means the lesser version may provide more total damage reduction when playing with friendly phantoms.
