The Great Machete provides one of the earliest accesses to heavy weaponry in the game, should the player is lucky enough to obtain one as a drop from a Hollow Manservant while traversing the Undead Settlement.
While its 24 Strength requirement will have the player investing frequently in this attribute, the rewards are well worth the effort, since the force with which each swing with this weapon is performed will kill most enemies in only one or two hits, making it also a good choice for spending the first upgrade materials obtained on it.
It has the basic greataxe moveset and also has decent reach.
|An overhead slamming attack, the first coming in from the left, the second from the right, and alternating from then on along with a little jump with each attack.|
|Not much difference to it's weak attack, but when charged and released deals heavy damage. Also uses the same direction alternation with each attack, like the weak attack.|
|An overhead slamming attack that doesn't differ from it's one-handed version, apart from dealing more damage. Same direction alternation.|
|An overhead slamming attack that starts from the hip. Deals heavy damage if upgraded, and has the same direction alternation as other attacks.|
|Rolling Attack||An overhead attack that has the player driving the tip into the ground, dealing moderate damage. This can be chained with weak or strong attacks.|
|Same as the one-handed Roll, but with a lunge after the roll that extends the reach, but still has the weapon tip being pushed into the ground in front of you. Can be chained with weak or strong attacks.|
|Kick||A normal kick ensues, but can be chained with weak or strong attacks.|
