Great Heavy Soul Arrow (強いソウルの太矢) is a Sorcery in Dark Souls.

Sorcery which improves upon Heavy Soul Arrow. Fire strong heavy soul arrow.

As difficult to use as Heavy Soul Arrow, but powerful enough to make it well worth it. Adored by certain sorcerers.

Availability

• Sold by Griggs of Vinheim for 8,000 souls, provided that the player has 10 Intelligence or higher.
• Sold by Big Hat Logan for 8,000 souls, initially with a 15 intelligence requirement but removes this after the player rescues him the second time.

General information

Great Heavy Soul Arrow requires 16 intelligence to use and has 8 uses per copy. It has the same slow cast time as Heavy Soul Arrow, but deals correspondingly the greatest damage per cast out of all the Soul Arrow variants.

Great Heavy Soul Arrow's primary usage is as a high damage first-strike attack against unaware foes, and as a combat spell best deployed against enemies with slow attacks and long recoveries. It has a magic attack power of 2.4 times the catalyst's magic adjust. While it has a relatively low total quantity of damage per attunement slot in comparison to the other Soul Arrow spells, its high damage per cast makes it useful at powering through the defenses of highly magic-resistant foes.
