Gough's Greatbow is a Bow in Dark Souls, and is found in the Artorias of the Abyss DLC.

In-Game Description

Greatbow used by Hawkeye Gough, of Lord Gwyn's Four Knights, for dragon slaying.

This bow is larger than even those used by the famed Dragonslayers. Only their leader, Gough, had the strength to handle it.

Availability

• Gift from Hawkeye Gough after defeating Black Dragon Kalameet.
• Dropped by Hawkeye Gough if killed after shooting down Kalameet.

Characteristics

Gough's Greatbow requires deploying before it can shoot, meaning total starting lag is much longer than that of other bows, and it has a longer draw time to boot. Gough's Greatbow requires a significant amount of stamina to shoot each arrow, too; at lower levels, it will deplete the entire stamina bar per shot, requiring a brief moment of rest between each shot. Gough's Greatbow may only use Dragonslayer Arrows and Gough's Great Arrows.

Gough's Greatbow makes up for its deficiencies by being one of the only bows with knockback while also having the second highest base damage (for a bow) per shot in the game.

Notes

Unlike most other bows, two handing Gough's Greatbow does not decrease the strength requirement.
