The Golem Axe is an axe in Dark Souls.
In-Game Description
- An Axe born from the soul of the Iron Golem, guardian of Sen's Fortress who repelled countless heroes who sought Anor Londo.
- Its powerful one-handed attack imitates the golem's blade of wind, but the heavy iron blade makes it quite unwieldy.
Availability[]
The Golem Axe is forged from the Core of an Iron Golem and an Axe or Greataxe that has been upgraded to +10 at the cost of 5,000 souls. It can only be upgraded using Demon Titanite to +5.
Characteristics[]
The strong attack sends a ranged shock blast similar to the one used by the Iron Golem. However, using this attack consumes 30 durability points.
The Golem Axe is on the heavier end of Axes, and has a slow swing. It has high damage, but cannot be enchanted. Its strongest trait, though, is its versatility. It is both a melee weapon and a ranged weapon. Furthermore, its ranged attack will inflict "melee" type damage, inflicting both health and serious Poise damage: enough to stagger most opponents. The ranged attack is also relatively fast, and will often take opponents by surprise. However, while the blast travels fast, the wind up to the special attack is quite long in comparison. Despite this, the special attack can be used faster than a lot of sorceries, also interrupting the caster. The Golem Axe comes with a dozen "charges" before requiring repairs.
Like all Axes, if an attack doesn't connect with an enemy, the user will stumble and seem to not be able to handle the weight. If the hit connects, the stumble animation does not come into play and the user moves as normal.
