Giant Acid Horn Beetles are enemies in Dark Souls II.
Location[]
- One is encountered in the Shrine of Amana, near the Rhoy's Resting Place bonfire.
- Another can be found caged in Aldia's Keep.
Description[]
As their name suggests, they are oversized Acid Horn Beetles. The acid clouds they emit can destroy equipment much faster than the normal beetles.
Strategy[]
Like the regular beetles, it is advisable to eliminate them from a distance to avoid equipment breakage. The player can also remove all their equipment and slay the enemies with punches with little risk, as they are unable to fight back.
The giant beetle found in the Shrine of Amana blocks a narrow tunnel and needs to be defeated to proceed.
The caged beetle in Aldia's Keep can be ignored first, as it is unable to break out of confinement. If the player frees all caged creatures by throwing the lever in the adjacent room with the Prowling Magus, the beetle can be killed to get its guaranteed drop.
