Floating Chaos is a pyromancy in Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel.
In-Game Description
- Pyromancer Dunnel was fascinated by this ceremonial art employed by the clerics of the Smouldering Lake.
- Summons a fire-spitting chaos orb.
- Chaos burns away in the blink of an eye, but was the primordial life born in the Bed of Chaos, and a grievous symbol of Izalith's sin.
Availability[]
Dropped by Livid Pyromancer Dunnel in the Painted World of Ariandel, who invades the player in Crossbreed Priscilla's boss arena.
Effect[]
The caster conjures a fire orb, which begins to levitate at its casting point. After 2.5 seconds, the orb begins shooting projectiles at the enemy that the caster was locked on to upon cast, launching three shots before dispersing. It can also shoot at the nearest enemy, if no hostile was locked on to. Each projectile will inflict 0.85 times the Spell Buff of the catalyst as Fire damage.
Multiple instances of this spell can be active at once.
Use[]
Single player[]
Due to its autonomy, this spell could be useful to deal safely with a large amount of enemies, allowing the player to simplify their work. It can also stun-lock enemies that are trying to hit the player.
Online gameplay[]
In PvP, this Pyromancy is useful for applying pressure to a target, or forcing them to roll. While a wary enemy can easily dodge the incoming fire if they are paying attention, this can make them dodge at an inopportune moment, creating an opportunity to roll-catch them with a weapon by closing the distance after conjuring the orb.
Trivia[]
- This spell is the same as that used by the Demon Clerics in Smouldering Lake.
