The Fang Boar Helm is a head armor piece in Dark Souls.
In-Game Description
- Severed head of the fully-armored Fang Boar taken by the one who killed it as proof of his victory, just as the Gods once did with the head of the ancient dragon.
- Can be worn on the head as a surprisingly sound piece of protective gear.
Availability[]
The Fang Boar Helm is a common drop from Fang Boars, although only three of them appear per playthrough (one at the beginning of the Undead Parish and two in Anor Londo, near the entrance of The Duke's Archives).
Characteristics[]
The Fang Boar Helm is a very heavy helm that provides high physical defense, poor elemental defense, and some resistances. At 8.0, it is the heaviest "standard" helm, behind only the Symbol of Avarice.
It can potentially be found very early, making it the first piece of Heavy Armor the player finds. It is a good helm to use early game, when most enemies only deal physical damage.
Once fully upgraded, it has very high physical defense (40.3 average) and the highest Slash Defense of any headpiece, but its elemental defenses remain extremely low.

Trivia[]
- The in-game description in the French, German, Italian and Spanish versions of the game states that the Fang Boar Helm can also be used to attack enemies with its tusks. However, this isn't true.
