The Fading Soul is a consumable soul item in Dark Souls III.
In-Game Description
- The fading soul of a corpse.
- Use to gain a smattering of souls.
- Let the Fire Keeper transform this sovereignless soul into a source of strength, for to be Unkindled is to be a vessel for souls.
Availability[]
A minimum of seven are guaranteed to be found per playthrough.
- Cemetery of Ash
- Dropped by Gravetender Hollows.
- Undead Settlement
- On the path to the Hollow Manservant that transports the player to the Pit of Hollows, there is a rooftop zone patrolled by numerous Thralls. A corpse in the open holds the item, as a trap for the Thralls to ambush the player.
- In the cemetery beyond the Dilapidated Bridge bonfire, on a corpse at the base of the White Birch tree guarded by the Giant Archer of the Undead Settlement.
- Dropped by Cage Spiders. (×5)
- Road of Sacrifices
- On the wooded path leading to the Crucifixion Woods bonfire. It is held by a corpse near a stone archway that serves as an ambush for a Starved Hound.
- Cathedral of the Deep
- At the extreme end of the graveyard, on a corpse near the Executioner's Greatsword.
- Irithyll of the Boreal Valley
- Outside the Church of Yorshka. The item is found on a corpse dangling from the edge of a cliff, to lure players into an ambush by Irithyllian Slaves.
- A second one is found further up the path to the right, at the base of a tree before the lone red-eyed Corvian.
- Irithyll Dungeon
- Shortly after encountering the first Jailer, there is a corpse holding the item dangling from a ledge to the left. It is a trap laid for a Reanimated Corpse to ambush the player from an open cell on the right and knock the player down to the lower floor.

- Untended Graves
- Dropped by Gravetender Hollows.
