The Estoc is a thrusting sword in Dark Souls III.

In-Game Description

Large thrusting sword used for piercing through the armor of knights.

The sharp edge of the sword's rock-solid blade can also be used in slashing attacks.

Skill: Shield Splitter
Aim carefully, and attack in a large forward lunge to pierce through enemy shields and inflict damage directly.

• Starting equipment of the Assassin class.
• Firelink Shrine
  • Sold by Greirat for 3,000 souls once he returns from his first scavenge expedition in the Undead Settlement.

Characteristics

As the longest reaching thrusting sword, the Estoc can easily hit and punish opponents who aren't positioned properly. Unlike most thrusting swords in its class, it can perform a unique horizontal sweep attack that has great range and can catch people off guard. Its skill, Shield Splitter, can bypass shields, making it an effective counter against defensive opponents. This, coupled with the fact that it is the longest thrusting sword, definitely makes it an invaluable tool in anyone's arsenal.

However, it does suffer some drawbacks. It cannot be used as a parry tool, removing an extra layer of utility that a normal Rapier could normally have, and doesn't have an increased critical attack modifier, making it a poor choice for ripostes.
