Endurance (Dark Souls)

Endurance is a stat in Dark Souls.

Description

Investing in Endurance increases maximum stamina, equipment burden, and bleed resistance.

Stamina

Stamina is represented by the green bar on the top left corner of the screen. Actions such as running and attacking reduces stamina, which quickly recharges. Recharge rate is lowered if the player has his/her guard up. If players run out of stamina, they temporarily cannot attack or run; in addition, if they attempt to block when out of (or almost out of) stamina, they will be staggered.

Maximum stamina is reached at level 40 endurance; further levels do not increase stamina. Stamina can also be increased by the Ring of Favor and Protection, even if the 40 endurance cap has been reached.

Equipment Burden

Equipment burden determines how much equipment the player can equip before being affected by movement penalties.
