For the Dark Souls II variant, see Iron Parma.

The Eastern Iron Shield is a Small Shield in Dark Souls III.

In-Game Description

A thick, round metal shield decorated with the unique crest of an eastern land.
Heaviest of the small shields, it is impressively weighty and thus able to deflect attacks with ease.
Skill: Weapon Skill
Equipping this shield in the left hand allows one to perform the Skill of the right hand weapon.

Availability[]

Sold by the Shrine Handmaid for 3,000 souls once she has been given the Easterner's Ashes.

Characteristics[]

With high physical absorption and very good stability that scales well with upgrades, the Eastern Iron Shield is best thought of as a pocket Medium Shield. Boasting the highest physical resistance of all Small Shields in the game, it can be used to reliably ward off physical attacks, though at the cost of tying for the second-heaviest Small Shield in the game, and lacking the ability to parry incoming attacks.

Due to its ability to use the skill of the right-hand weapon, it is best utilized on offensive builds that are lacking in the Vitality or Strength to equip a heavier shield.
