The Eastern Armor is a chest armor piece in Dark Souls. It is part of the Eastern Set.
In-Game Description
- A distinctive armor made in an Eastern land.
- Exquisitely crafted, this armor offers excellent defense, particularly versus slash attacks, which are one of the main threats in battles in the East.

Characteristics[]
Like the other pieces of the Eastern Set, it has a very poor protection to weight ratio. It may be viable in the early game for its high resistances, but it is easily surpassed in protection by other chest pieces.
Curiously, as if to compensate for this statistical weakness, this armor piece alone greatly reduces the wearer's sound emission while two-handing any small / medium weapon. While gripping anything roughly longsword-sized or smaller in this fashion, and so long as their equip load stays below 50%, the wearer may slip up behind enemies at a normal movement speed whilst remaining completely undetected. Moving around after switching to a large weapon or one-handed grip will alert enemies as normal, as will rolling, attacking, and sprinting in their vicinity. Nevertheless, this tiny special attribute gives the armor piece a niche for those who may enjoy occasional light stealth, but who eschew either the Hush spell or Slumbering Dragoncrest Ring.

Trivia[]
- Another benign special effect of this outfit lies in its fashion aspect, as it were; when wearing the armor sans Gauntlets, the sleeves will be fully pulled down, revealing an embossed pattern on the left arm exclusively. These sleeves will even remain pulled down when wearing any glove-type Gauntlet.
- This minute "sleeve-adjustment" detail is seen very few other armor pieces, generally limited to those with long arm coverings like the Painting Guardian Robe, and it's own accompanying gloves.
