The Drakeblood Greatsword is a greatsword in Dark Souls III.
In-Game Description

Characteristics[]
The Drakeblood Greatsword is a very unique weapon with several properties that set it apart from all of its peers.
It deals innate Magic and Lightning damage, making it a very useful tool for chipping through the shields of enemies; on top of this, it can still be buffed or infused, greatly increasing its flexibility. However, it also has very poor physical scaling, so the split-damage nature of the weapon combined with its low physical damage means that each individual strike of the weapon does not deal as much damage as its high attack rating would otherwise indicate. Conversely, however, this split damage is greatly amplified when performing a critical attack, easily overwhelming a target's flat defenses from multiple fronts. Combined with its Stance skill, the Drakeblood Greatsword is a very dangerous threat against shield-carrying opponents, as it can either damage enemies through their raised shields or knock it aside with a guard break for heavily damaging ripostes.
The Drakeblood Greatsword also has the unfortunate distinction of being one of the shortest greatswords in the game, having less reach than even straight swords like the Gotthard Twinswords and Ringed Knight Straight Sword. This makes it difficult to use against opponents who are good at outspacing the weapon. To counter this, however, it also possesses a moveset that blends the attacks of the Bastard Sword with those of the Hollowslayer Greatsword. In particular, it shares the two-handed weak attacks of the Hollowslayer Greatsword, meaning that after the first swing, it gains almost immediate Hyper Armor which allows it to out-trade any smaller weapons that attempt to punish its short reach.
Overall, the Drakeblood Greatsword possesses many intrinsic advantages that makes it very strong in the hands of a build that does not prioritize physical damage. Its innate elemental damage, combined with its ability to be buffed or infused, make it a force to be reckoned with when buffed with Lightning Blade, Darkmoon Blade or Crystal Magic Weapon, or when infused with any number of elemental gems to amplify its damage output.
